Hi everyone!
It’s only been a short time since my last post but I have more NEW artwork! My 7 Deadly Sins print is now available at the Creepy Cute Show in Cozy Days Gallery.
I thought the style of my Yui dolls would be the perfect execution for the “creepy cute” theme. I wanted to draw them all as modern girls who are empowered rather than brought down by their imperfections. I think the only exception was Envy, because it’s pretty impossible to paint envy in a positive light LOL. It was actually difficult coming up with ideas for some of them. To brainstorm ideas, tried imagining how I would be if I were each of the seven deadly sins. After all, everyone has felt each of these sins in some way or another during the course of our lives.
As a bonus, I made each of my 7 Deadly Sins into a tarot card! Each of the cards below is now available in my Store.
I have always been fascinated with Tarot and recently purchased my first deck! I saw it at my local bookstore, and was drawn in by the beautiful artwork:
It came with a little booklet explaining each card. I previously thought Tarot was a cheesy carnival trick, but learned that it’s actually a tool for introspection. The cards prompt you to think about your own life, and maybe think in different ways. This reignited my interest in Tarot and now I want to design my own deck! I follow some other artists who are also working on their own tarot deck. Some of them have been working for years on it! So my tarot cards will definitely be a long term project. But first, I need to prepare for DesignerCon next month! More updates on that later!
