Hi friends!

Today is the first day that you can vote for your favorite custom in the Martian Toys Dunny Contest. Last week I posted photos of my Alice in Candyland piece that I entered.

Since I started designing toys full-time, I have been inspired to create custom toys that blur the line between dolls and vinyl figurines. I’ve been experimenting with new materials since my Matsu custom, and this piece was made using a couple new techniques. She has handmade “glass eyes” that I painted and coated with clear resin. Her hair is made from soft yarn. The removable base is inspired by decoden – a Japanese craft trend that involves making everyday items look like kawaii-themed sweets.
If you like Alice and want to see more pieces like her, please vote!

There are 29 great contestants. It is really inspiring to see everyone’s creativity, especially from artists I am seeing for the first time. Take a look at all of them and vote for your favorite!

Thank you all for your support and have a great day!
